MERCY SAFE CARING INITIATIVE – AVASURE TELESITTER
Hospitals across the country highlight the importance of patient safety. A culture of safety is the bedrock on which any healthcare organization stands. Patient safety is top priority at Mercy Medical Center.
The proceeds from the 2018 Souper Bowl will allow a Mercy Safe Caring initiative called AvaSure TeleSitter to be implemented. This program is a proven intervention to improve patient experience and level of care. Many individuals seeking medical attention enter our doors being at-risk for self harm due to dementia, fall risks, medical safety restraints, elopement, drug and alcohol detoxification and behavioral health issues. AvaSure TeleSitter employs video monitoring designed to increase the capacity of constant patient observation and allows for more patients to be monitored in a cost-effective manner.
Mercy’s mission to provide quality, compassionate, accessible, and affordable care for the whole person aligns seamlessly with the AvaSure TeleSitter program. The program is transformational in reducing adverse events in a healthcare setting. It has a proven track record to enhance patient experience, improve population health, better the work life for hospital clinicians and staff, and maximize manpower resource allocation and cost savings.
Your generous support of this year’s Souper Bowl makes you a partner in Mercy’s healing mission. Because of you, patient safety for the thousands of patients treated at the hospital each year will be transformed.
