Our charming, gregarious Sole Men volunteers play a hugely important role at our event, and we can’t imagine doing it without them. Our affable architects, flirty firemen, dashing doctors, and good ole regular guys (brothers, fathers, friends) are helping us take charge with raising money for the cause and spreading the mission to make sure that the ladies in their lives never have to sacrifice their health due to the lack of funds!
Our Sole Men are in charge of greeting and schmoozing with guests, presenting designer goodies on silver platters, selling raffle tickets, promoting auction lots, and—most importantly—making every woman feel special. They play a key role in creating hype within the community by spreading the word to friends and colleagues while also competing for the coveted “King of Sole” crown. Get ready ladies to watch our men bring the house down!

I am retired from the education field (teacher, principal, supervisor), married 34 years to wife Ann, 2 children (Sarah and Thomas) and 5 grandsons (Spencer, Elliot, Reese, Tristan and Nolan). Previously resided in Naples, FL for 24 years where I coached tennis at the high school level, and various sports at the elementary/middle school level. I taught ballroom dance and tried out with the Philadelphia Phillies back in the day! I moved to Ohio in 1997 to be closer to family.
Having visited Europe and gotten a glimpse of the healthcare available to their citizens, it’s imperative that residents of this country have access to healthcare that meets their needs without having to choose between paying for health treatment and realizing it is beyond their means to afford it. Our country should take necessary steps to assuage the coverage its residents have regularly, their healthcare needs and their ability to afford needed care.
Please help me raise $1,000 for Wine Women & Shoes and help women with their cancer journeys at Mercy Cancer Center!
Your sponsorship of Wine Women & Shoes
will benefit Mercy Medical Center’s cancer services for women. Our vision
is for all women in our community to have access to comprehensive, quality, and
compassionate care when faced with a cancer diagnosis. Too many times, women
are overwhelmed with life-altering issues that compound the complexities of
their cancer treatment.
With your help, women facing cancer and their families will have the resources they need to get through a cancer diagnosis and will have the best possible chance for survival. Your partnership with Mercy Service League will enhance Mercy Cancer Center’s efforts to assist all women throughout their cancer journey. There is nothing stronger than the collective power of women helping women!
